Fertility-Sparing Treatment of Gynaecological Cancer
Learning Objectives:
To learn about fertility-sparing treatment options for young women diagnosed with gynaecological cancer.
Abstract:Â
A significant number of women are diagnosed with gynaecological cancer before the age of 40 years. In the past, surgical standard treatment included removing the uterus, tubes and ovaries, which was suboptimal for women who were interested in preserving childbearing potential. Modern treatment strategies are emerging that allow affected patients to have safe and effective gynaecological cancer treatment and at the same time, preserve childbearing potential. This presentation will outline options for women with ovarian, cervical and endometrial cancer.
