Abstract:
Aim of any Screening is To detect disease among healthy asymptomatic patients with a Purpose to Decrease Morbidity/ Mortality.
They aim to detect diseases at an early stage, before any symptoms become noticeable. This has the advantage of being able to treat the disease much earlier.
A screening test is performed as a preventative measure – to detect a potential health problem or disease in someone that doesn’t yet have signs or symptoms. The purpose of screening is early detection; helping to reduce the risk of disease, or to detect a condition early enough to treat it most effectively.
The Presentation aims to make Practitioners aware of the recent changes in cervical screening, available tests for various gynaecological malignancies and when to refer a patient to a gynae oncologist to improve patient outcome.
