5. Differences in the management of these conditions
Abstract:
>50% of women with angina referred for coronary angiography have non-obstructive coronary arteries. Most are labelled as non-cardiac chest pain or given an empirical diagnosis of microvascular dysfunction. Progress in research and medical technology have now made it easier to definitively diagnose microvascular angina and coronary vasospasm. Randomised controlled trial results have shown improvements in symptoms and quality of life by performing these invasive tests and making a definitive diagnosis with tailored treatment. Coronary microvascular and vasospasm testing is now available at CardioVascular Clinics.
