Course Details

Delve into the outcomes of female patients with coronary artery disease, explore spontaneous coronary artery disease, address myocardial infarction with non-obstructive coronary artery disease (MINOCA), and examine the role of women in the cardiology workforce.

This is a RACGP CPD module with an allocated 1 hour of Education Activities (EA) and 1 hour of Reflective Practice (RP) under the RACGP 2023-25 CPD program.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Review current clinical data identifying outcomes in coronary artery disease (CAD) in women compared to men 
  2. Discuss data demonstrating higher Spontaneous Coronary Artery Dissection (SCAD) presentations in women compared to men
  3. Discuss Myocardial Ischaemia with Non-obstructive coronary artery disease (MINORCA)
  4. Review the current status of female physicians in medicine in Australia

This activity is presented by Dr Elizabeth Shaw, a Structural and Interventional Cardiologist at Sydney Adventist Hospital, Northern Beaches Hospital, and Hornsby Hospital.
