Overactive bladder – Charting a path to a higher quality of life

Course Details

Overactive bladder (OAB) has been found to impact more than 10% of the Australian population and significantly impact quality of life.

Dr James Alexander explores this common condition, the differences between overactive bladder and stress incontinence and the management plans available for these patients.

This is a RACGP CPD module with an allocated 0.5 hours of Educational Activities (EA) and 1 hour of Reflective Practice (RP) under the RACGP 2023-25 CPD program.

Learning Objectives: 

  1. Review the mechanical and neuromuscular differences between overactive bladder (OAB) and stress incontinence and methods to diagnose each condition
  2. Discuss the management plans for patients with OAB in the community, including pharmacological agents and procedural therapies.

This CPD activity is presented by Dr James Alexander who is an Obstetrician, Gynaecologist and certified urogynaecologist from the Sydney Adventist Hospital.
