Management of Venous Ulcers

Course Details

Join Dr Upeksha (Pecky) De Silva for an insightful presentation on managing venous ulcers, covering key topics like diagnosis, risk factors, compression therapy, and the role of surgical interventions in improving patient outcomes.

This is a RACGP CPD module with an allocated 0.5 hour of Education Activities (EA), 5 hours of Measuring Outcomes (MO), and 1 hour of Reflective Practice (RP) under the RACGP 2023-25 CPD program.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Review the incidence and prevalence of Venous Leg Ulcers (VLU) in the community
  2. Discuss the underlying pathophysiology that contributes to the causation of VLU
  3. Outline treatment and management tools used to improve wound outcomes

This activity is presented by Dr Upeksha (Pecky) De Silva, a Vascular and Endovascular Surgeon with admitting rights at the Sydney Adventist Hospital and serving as a Visiting Medical Officer in Vascular Surgery at Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Hospital.
