Revisit the causes of myocardial ischaemia in the absence of obstructive coronary artery disease and the current guidelines for chest pain.
This is a RACGP CPD module with an allocated 1 hour of Education Activities (EA) and 1 hour of Reflective Practice (RP) under the RACGP 2023-25 CPD program.
Learning Objectives:
- Review causes of myocardial ischaemia that can occur in the absence of obstructive coronary artery disease.
- Discuss limitations of only assessing epicardial coronary arteries in the assessment of chest pain syndromes / ischaemic heart disease
- Review current guideline recommendations for the evaluation of chest pain syndromes, including the role of invasive assessment of coronary vasomotor disorders and coronary microvascular dysfunction
