E-Cards and Education Portals
This E-Card and/or Education Portal is part of the MEDD network and hence operates under the MEDD.com.au terms and conditions.

You are receiving this E-Card and/our education portal free of charge as part of the sponsored Hope For Hearts cardiac education program managed by Connect The Docs. The program aims to improve the awareness of cardiac disease and patient management among the general practitioner and patient community.

By accepting this e-card and/or education portal you are agreeing to participate in the education program by:

1.     Claiming your free profile on the Hope For Hearts platform

2.     Agreeing to host sponsored, compliant medical education content on your e-card and education portal, for your own reference and to share with other Australian healthcare professionals only. All sponsored content will be clearly identified as sponsored content. You can request this content be removed if not deemed relevant, by contacting [email protected]

3.     Agreeing to receive an email and sms notification once a month notifying you of updated content.

Your e-card will be able to host your contact details, a photo and short biography, links to your Hope For Hearts profile, events, referral forms, resources, educational content, websites and your social media channels. Your education portal will be able to host a short biography and photo, manage event registrations and host content links and a contact form directing communication to your nominated email destination. By accepting this E-Card and/or education portal you are agreeing to be automatically bound by these terms and conditions, including our privacy policy. We encourage you to carefully read and understand these terms before using the website or any of our services.  If you don’t agree, your remedy is to stop using your e-card and/or education portal. 


We may update our terms from time to time and the new provisions will apply from the date they are updated. The terms can be accessed at www.medd.com.au

No unlawful or prohibited use
As a condition of your use of this website, you warrant that you will not use this website for any purpose that is unlawful or prohibited by these terms and conditions. Permission
You agree that the sponsoring organisation can host educational assets relevant to your speciality services on your education portal/e-card. You may use these assets to share with your referral colleagues and other Australian healthcare professionals. Connect The Docs will manage all HCP registrations to your education portal/e-card in accordance with our privacy policy and the terms and conditions of MEDD.com.au. Your e-card and/or education portal information will be used to register your access to MEDD.com.au and our medical networking platform Healthcombined, allowing you to connect and share content with your referral network and colleagues. You will receive login details, once your registration has been processed. You can cancel your e-card and /or education portal at any time by contacting us at admin@medd.com.au. Connect The Docs will take all reasonable actions to take down your education portal and/or clear your e card within 24 hrs of receiving your instructions to do so. 


Your content
You warrant that you hold the necessary rights and interests to use any material you add to our website or social media pages (your content) and that all of your content does not infringe any third party intellectual property rights, including copyright and trademark rights. You also warrant the accuracy of any content you submitted to MEDD for your E-Card/Education Portal. Connect The Docs does not take any responsibility for the accuracy of your content.


Copyright infringement
If you believe that there is material on our website that infringes third party intellectual property rights, please contact [email protected].  with sufficient information to enable us to determine who is the owner of the intellectual property and to form the reasonable belief that there has been an infringement, then we will remove it from our website. 

Be aware that you may be subject to liability if you knowingly make any misrepresentations when providing information to us.

MEDD has SSL certification with regular backups of the wordpress site and plugins. We make efforts to maintain the security of our website. However, we do not guarantee the security of the website, our records, or your content. We disclaim all liability for any computer virus or technological problems that we do not intentionally cause or that is beyond our control. You are encouraged to install and maintain up-to-date security software on your computer.

Continuous accessibility to the website is dependent upon third party services. As a result, the website may be inaccessible from time to time.

Limitation of liability
We will not be liable to you or any other person or entity for any damages whatsoever arising as a result of your use of our websites, education portals or E-Cards in any way, subject to the requirements of Australian Consumer Law. 

Where warranties are implied by law, you acknowledge and agree that the total aggregate liability to us is limited at our discretion to the provision of those services again, or to a refund equal to the total amount paid by you for the particular services that are the subject of the cause of action, even if those services were provided to you without cost.

Indemnity

Connect The Docs will do everything in its control to ensure the platform/e-card is working as intended. You acknowledge that by receiving a sponsored licence for the e-card/education portal, you are under no obligation to purchase products from that sponsoring organisation. 

 

Our performance of this agreement is subject to existing laws and legal process. Nothing contained in this agreement can be used to inhibit our right to comply with governmental, court and law enforcement requests or requirements relating to your use of this website, or with regard to information provided to or gathered by us with respect to your use. 

Validity
If any part of these terms and conditions is determined to be invalid or unenforceable pursuant to applicable law including, but not limited to, the warranty disclaimers and liability limitations, then the invalid or unenforceable provision will be deemed superseded by a valid, enforceable provision that most closely matches the intent of the original provision and the remainder of the terms and conditions will continue in effect.

Who we are

 

Connect The Docs pty ltd is a medical marketing and education agency that owns and manages a number of medical education platforms including MEDD. 

 

MEDD is a closed medical platform hosting clinical masterclasses, medical innovation updates and roundtable discussions on hot topics in healthcare. Our website address is: https://medd.com.au.


What personal data we collect and why we collect it

We collect the following data from users; AHPRA number, phone number, email address, user watch history, dietary requirements, event attendance and registration. We use this data to optimise our site, register physicians for events and verify that our users are in fact physicians.


Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.


An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.


Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.


Contact forms

Our contact forms require the following information from users; name, title, email address, contact number, AHPRA number and dietary requirements.


Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.


If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

User Data is shared with Connect The Docs in order to optimise MEDD.


How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

 

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.


Where we send your data

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.

The site analyses user behaviour which suggests content based on the users prior engagement. Different user types are created and optimised according to their registration.
