This is a RACGP CPD module with an allocated 0.5 hours of Education Activities (EA) and 1 hour of Reflective Practice (RP) under the RACGP 2023-25 CPD program.
Learning Objectives:
- Review the incidence, prevalence, and clinical presentation of menopause and perimenopause in Australian women, including the range of vasomotor, psychological, genitourinary, and cognitive symptoms
- Improve confidence in diagnosing menopause clinically and in assessing red flags and differential diagnoses, including abnormal bleeding, cardiovascular risk, and mental health concerns
- Apply evidence-based treatment strategies for managing menopausal symptoms in general practice, including the safe and appropriate use of menopausal hormone therapy (MHT), non-hormonal alternatives, and referral criteria for complex cases
This activity is presented by Dr Elizabeth Rayment, a GP Specialist from the Sydney Adventist Hospital.
This presentation was recorded at the San GP Education event ‘A Focus on: Menopause’ in May 2025.
